Aaliyah Brown

Instructor

Aaliyah Brown, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Her passion for dance began at the age of 7 when she was a gymnast. At the age of 12, she started her technical training at the Edna Lee Dance Company, focusing on ballet. As she progressed, she also delved into contemporary jazz and majorette at Western High School, where she joined the dance team and band's dance line. To further her education and skills, Aaliyah pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts: Dance and Movement Studies from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland. During her time at the university, she gained extensive knowledge and experience in various dance styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and even continued with majorette. Her dedication and talent opened doors for her, including the opportunity to audition and dance in collaboration with the Washington Wizards dance team. Aaliyah's passion for creative direction and performance led her to create her own dance production called "Now You See Us?" as a capstone project before graduating. Currently, Aaliyah is focused on nurturing her love for teaching while also exploring and growing as an artist. She is dedicated to honing her skills and sharing her passion for dance with others.
