Harriet Gordon

Instructor

Harriet has been dancing since the age of four and her training includes ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, contemporary and musical theater styled dance. Throughout the years as a dance student, Harriet had the opportunity to take many master classes in a variety of dance styles as well as attend dance workshops and conventions. Besides competing with tap and hip hop dance, Harriet was a part of the first annual Beat Addikts United showcase. At the University of Delaware, where she studied Dietetics and Dance, Harriet was one of the founders and lead choreographers for Isodynamic hip hop dance crew, as well as a participant in the annual dance minor concert and dance show ”Justice Tales.” Harriet has performed and trained with Afta Shock DC, Flomotion Dance Company and was a teaching artist for Dance & Bmore. She continues to perform her original dance choreography at Labyrinth Dance Company showcases in Philadelphia, NACHMO DC, DHH Dance Collaborative (performing at Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC), ClancyWorks Connecting the Community event and Dance Canvas Festival in Bethesda, MD. Harriet has also performed in Dance ICONs in Washington D.C., Commuovere Dance Company Showcase, Kinetic Canvas: Leonardo Di Vinci,

Effervescence Collective “fast and…” showcase and Ballet Nocturne events. Harriet is certified in Cecchetti Ballet Grade I, Progressing Ballet Technique, completed the Level I training in the iTap Teacher Certificate Program, and has attended the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum training sessions Pre-Primary to Level 3. Throughout the years, she has taught ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary/modern, Pom, and hip hop at different studios in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Harriet is very excited to continue performing and teaching dance at our studio!
