Discovery Day Program
Discovery Day Program is a warm, nurturing early learning program designed to help young children build essential developmental skills through exploration, creativity, and structured educational activities.
Our curriculum blends early academics with movement, music, art, yoga, and imaginative play to support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Each month features a new theme that sparks curiosity and encourages children to discover, create, and learn in an engaging, supportive environment. Our program is vetted and approved by AACPS elementary educators, ensuring a high quality learning experience grounded in developmentally appropriate practices.

Our unique studio setting allows us to blend both traditional and Montessori inspired learning approaches, giving students a balanced environment where structure, creativity, independence, and exploration all thrive.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Three pillars.
One Clear Pathway to Kindergarten Readiness
01
LEARN TO PLAY
Play is a child’s natural way of interacting with and exploring the world around them.
Students reach early developmental milestones in language and communication through independent and cooperative play with their peers.
Through guided and free play, children also build vital cognitive, physical and social-emotional skills.
02
PLAY TO LEARN
Play based learning is a powerful approach to building essential skills and knowledge through engaging activities.
Research shows that this approach to teaching boosts brain function, problem solving skills and information retention.
Students explore early language, math and science concepts through a combination of traditional lessons, curated experiences and student led play.
03
INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION
We offer a unique blend of traditional and Montessori style teaching to provide an individualized educational experience. We have whole group and small group instruction and exploration each morning. Students benefit from time spent with same age peers, as well as younger and older students, which provides a comprehensive experience to meet the educational, physical and social-emotional needs of each student to ensure they are prepared to greet Kindergarten with confidence!
