CREATIVE FORCE DANCE CENTER — SEVERNA PARK, MD

The Next Step
Dance Program

A college dance preparation program for dancers ages 6–18. Build the skills, gain the knowledge, and earn the exposure to keep dancing beyond high school.

Passion to purpose - not just passion to profession

Did you know? You don’t have to major in dance to earn a college scholarship through a dance team. Your passion has more pathways than you think.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Three pillars.
One clear pathway.

Next Step is built around three integrated pillars that work together to prepare dancers for the real collegiate dance landscape—not just technically, but strategically.

01

SKILL TRAINING

Train like a college dancer

Weekly classes in the five styles most commonly featured on college dance teams. Whether a dancer is aiming for a dance major or simply wants to keep dancing while studying something else entirely, Next Step provides focused, purposeful technique that shines in auditions.

02

INFORMATION

Know the landscape before you arrive

Dancers gain insider access to the opportunities, expectations, and realities of collegiate dance programs. Audition timelines, scholarship details, team types, and what coaches actually look for. There’s no clear map from studio training to college dance—until now.

03

EXPOSURE

Get in front of the right people

Through our growing partnerships with college and university dance programs, dancers gain real performance opportunities at collegiate events, the chance to observe auditions and rehearsals, and direct visibility with coaches. This is ground-floor access most dancers never get.

FOR EVERY LEVEL

Where your dancer fits

Next Step is open to dancers ages 6–18 at all experience levels. The program meets each dancer where they are and builds toward where they want to go.

LEVEL I & II — AGES 6–10

Dream big. Dance even bigger.

Young dancers are here to grow, explore, and discover what dance can be. They’ll have fun learning different styles, find out what it’s like to dance in college, and gain real-world experience through special events—all while building confidence and making friends who share their love of movement. We’ll get them ready for the future, one step at a time.

LEVEL III & IV — AGES 11–18

Serious about dance. Ready for more.

Dancers in the upper levels are ready to go deeper. They’ll strengthen technique, expand their knowledge of the collegiate dance world, and gain real performance and audition experience. From mastering styles in the studio to navigating the college recruitment process, they’ll build the confidence, versatility, and direction needed to take the next step.

FALL ENROLLMENT

The five core classes

Dancers enroll in age-level classes each fall. All five styles are featured on college dance teams across the country.

Dancers also participate in both the fall and spring showcases, with additional performance opportunities available throughout the season—including potential collegiate events as our college partnerships continue to grow.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Dance can help fund your future

Dance is a competitive sport, and it’s time it was treated like one. Many universities offer competitive dance teams that award partial scholarships each semester—regardless of your major. Pre-med, future engineer, aspiring journalist—any student can leverage dance for recognition, community, and real financial support in college.

Most dancers and families don’t know this pathway exists. Next Step is here to change that.
