Trying something new can be exciting - and a little nerve-wracking. If you’re a parent signing up for your child’s first dance trial class, you might be wondering what to expect, what to bring, and how to make the experience smooth and stress-free. At Creative Force Dance Center (CFDC), we’re here to make that first step joyful, welcoming, and easy to navigate.

Here’s everything you need to know before your dancer takes the floor.

Check-In Made Simple

When you arrive:

  • Come a few minutes early to meet our front desk team and get settled

  • Fill out a trial waiver form

  • Tour the space if you’d like—we’re happy to show you around!

We’ll introduce your dancer to their teacher and help them feel comfortable before class begins.

Observation Policies

We know parents want to see their child shine! Here’s how we handle observation:

  • Preschool & early childhood classes: Parents will stay in the lobby and can view class on our in-room cameras

  • School-age classes: We encourage drop-off to help dancers build independence, but you're welcome to stay nearby

Our goal is to create a focused, supportive space for dancers while keeping families connected.

What to Wear

No need to buy a full dance wardrobe for a trial! Just come dressed to move:

  • Preschool–Kindergarten: Athletic type clothing and bare feet, ballet shoes if you already have them

  • School-age dancers: Leggings or dance shorts, tank or tee, and clean sneakers or dance shoes depending on style

  • Hair pulled back: Ponytail, bun, or braid—whatever keeps it secure

If you’re unsure, just ask! We’ll guide you based on the class style and age group.

What Happens in Class?

Your dancer will:

  • Meet their teacher and classmates

  • Learn basic steps and warm-ups

  • Try age-appropriate choreography

  • Play movement games or explore music

  • Get a feel for the studio’s rhythm and energy

Classes are designed to be fun, welcoming, and skill-building—no pressure, just joy.

After Class: What’s Next?

Once class ends:

  • Chat with the teacher or front desk about how it went

  • Ask questions about class levels, schedules, or registration

We’re here to help you decide if CFDC is the right fit—and we’ll never pressure you to commit before you’re ready.

A dance trial class is more than just a test—it’s a chance to see your child light up, move with joy, and discover something new.
